What’s New Beyond the Big Game …
Las Vegas is still Las Vegas — even on the biggest sports weekend of the year — and there will be many experiences for those who are looking to engage beyond the game. Car lovers can indulge their passions for superior automotive design and racing by taking a spin through the first-of-its-kind McLaren Experience Center at Wynn, powered by O’Gara. One of McLaren’s largest global retailers, O’Gara has locations in Beverly Hills, La Jolla and Westlake Village. Part showroom, part boutique, part immersive gallery, McLaren Experience Center is geared toward both enthusiasts and customers of the high-performance supercar brand. The space features the chance to view a regularly rotating display of three McLaren supercars and showcases unique hypercars, including a one-of-a-kind McLaren Senna and one of just 149 McLaren Elvas that were produced globally. Every vehicle is hand-assembled at the McLaren Production Centre in Woking, Surrey, England.
“There’s something about these cars that just seem to put a smile on people’s faces,” says Tom O’Gara, founder of O’Gara Coach. “People don’t buy a McLaren for transportation. They buy it because it transports them somewhere — creating memories and experiences, meeting new people, new friendships.
Even if you aren’t in the market for a six-figure supercar, the experience center has points of attraction for all including the world’s largest McLaren showroom vehicle configurator, a racing simulator similar to the one used by McLaren Formula 1® racer, Lando Norris, McLaren merchandise from caps to the TUMI McLaren luggage and limited-edition Las Vegas-themed T-shirts.
“We are exclusive in terms of price but inclusive in terms of how we interact with people — we bring our audience closer to the brand, let them interact, have experiences they can’t have with other supercar brands. From our perspective, it is that ability to get close to the fans and the public,” says Roger Ormisher, vp of communications for McLaren in The Americas.
In 2021, McLaren unveiled the hybrid supercar, Artura, which is available to test drive at Wynn. It serves dual roles: it is a daily urban roadster and an immersive supercar, with the brand’s signature shrink-wrapped look. Artura is the first to benefit from McLaren Carbon Lightweight Architecture (MCLA) and it offers the thunderous throttle of a race car with smooth EV driving capability. While you are technically in a race car, the interior volume feels amplified with every surface extending the space by design.

“We are a race car team that builds road cars, not the other way around. It is a very different mindset. The Artura is an incredibly complex vehicle. We did everything new and that’s a real race car mentality. The carbon fiber technology is cutting edge — lightweight, is obviously a key thing. It’s very much about the technology of the car and the fulfillment you get with the drive.”
