SZA gave a fierce performance at the 2024 Grammys, singing some of her biggest hits.
Wearing an all-black outfit with a leather trench coat, the singer-songwriter started with a soulful performance of her song “Snooze” from her album SOS.
After, backup dancers, appearing equally fierce, proceeded to come in with swords as SZA began singing “Kill Bill.” At one point, the dancers jumped on other artist’s tables in the audience, as Janelle Monáe, Kelsea Ballerini and other stars cheered SZA on.

Right before her performance, the singer shared a few words in an intro video about what her latest album and the Grammys mean to her.
“SOS took about five years for me to finish and put out,” SZA says in the footage. “I consulted the water about every aspect of this hour. I never feel nervous in the ocean, when I’m swimming in open water. I loved the isolation, the vastness, the emptiness. I definitely feel like fear and anxiety are part of who I am.”
She added, “My intense fear here is part of the reason why I have a lot of energy on stage. I get to, like, leap around and jump around and scream and shake my head and do these things.”

Later, during an ad spot for Mastercard, SZA also performed an unreleased song titled “Saturn.” The performance was meant to spotlight the message, “We all need to work together to protect the planet,” according to the credit card company.
SZA led the Grammy nominations this year with nine nods, including record of the year and song of the year for “Kill Bill,” album of the year with SOS and best melodic rap performance for “Low.” SOS could be the first album by a Black woman to win the top awards in 25 years.
She ended up winning best R&B song for “Snooze” during Sunday’s televised show.
Earlier during the Grammys Premiere Ceremony Sunday afternoon, SZA won the awards for best pop duo/group performance for “Ghost In The Machine,” with Phoebe Bridgers, as well as best progressive R&B album for SOS.
The singer dominated with her 2022 album SOS, which had five tracks hit the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, including “Kill Bill,” “I Hate U” and “Snooze.”
SZA was one of many artists who were set to take to the Grammy stage to perform Sunday night, including Miley Cyrus, Joni Mitchell, Billie Eilish, Dua Lipa, Olivia Rodrigo, U2, Travis Scott and Luke Combs.
The 66th annual Grammy Awards, hosted by Trevor Noah, aired live from Los Angeles. Find the complete list of the night’s winners here.
